This international non-profit organization conducts most of its business though the website.
When their Drupal website literally disappeared one day, they lost a lot of materials. There wasn’t a backup made of anything, so we had to scramble to
- recreate the site
- then make the site better
WCE opted to change from Drupal to WordPress to take advantage of the numerous offerings in plugins to allow for all kinds of functions that they could only dream of with their old site. The new theme was created using screenshots from the Wayback Machine, and then updated to reflect the time.
Their old system of acquiring new subscribers went like this:
- collecting email addresses
- copying and pasting them into a document
- uploaded into their newsletter system
The new website does this automatically and it segments subscribers based on where they live and what kind of news they want to receive.
The new site also uses a very cool form builder that collects all kinds of useful volunteer & donor info that the organization presents to its board members.
